1. What HKTaxWise is — and isn't
HKTaxWise is an educational tool that helps you understand Hong Kong salaries tax using publicly available Inland Revenue Department (IRD) rules. It is not personalised tax advice, it is not a substitute for a qualified accountant or the IRD's own assessment, and we are not affiliated with the Inland Revenue Department. Your actual tax liability is determined solely by the IRD when it assesses your return.
2. Accuracy
We work hard to keep figures current — every number in the calculator traces to an IRD or Government source, and we update the data after each Budget and relevant gazettal. Tax law changes and edge cases exist, however, and estimates can differ from your final assessment. Where the stakes are material, verify with the IRD or a CPA before acting.
3. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Hong Kong law, HKTaxWise and its operators are not liable for any loss arising from use of this site, including (without limitation) tax underpayment or overpayment, surcharges, penalties, or decisions made in reliance on an estimate. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
4. Fair use
The free calculator is for personal, non-commercial use. Don't scrape, resell, or misrepresent the service. The content, design, and code of this site are owned by HKTaxWise; you may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link.
5. Paid features
When paid features launch, the price, what's included, and the refund policy will be stated plainly on the purchase page before you pay. No subscriptions, no auto-renewal without explicit consent.
6. Governing law
