About HKTaxWise

Every May, a green envelope lands in two million Hong Kong letterboxes, and most people's shoulders tighten a little. Not because the tax is unaffordable — Hong Kong's rates are famously low — but because the form is dense, the allowances are scattered across a dozen IRD pages, and nobody is quite sure they're not leaving money on the table.

HKTaxWise exists to take the dread out of that envelope. One question at a time, in plain English (and plain Cantonese), with the IRO citation behind every number — so you can check our work, not take our word.

We're independent: not affiliated with the Inland Revenue Department, not owned by a bank, and not funded by lending referrals. The free calculator is genuinely free — no signup, no email. We plan to earn our keep with an optional one-off Filer walkthrough at a price that's about a tenth of a CPA's fee, and nothing else.

The numbers behind the calculator are verified against IRD and Government of HKSAR publications for the current year of assessment, and updated after each Budget. If you spot an error, email hello@hkwealthwise.com — we fix fast and we'll credit you.
